Nvidia Shield buffering direct stream local content

Server Version#: 1.18.8.2468
Player Version#: 7.29.1.16001

I have been having some issues with the nVidia shield buffering local content that is direct streaming.

The movie in question is a 4K version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. This is stored locally on a NAS attached to a plex VM (note these are separate virtual machines residing on the same baremetal hardware).

I have grabbed a log of the android tv client and the plex media server,
buffering-harry-potter1-server.txt (41.0 KB)
buffering-harry-potter-client.txt (1.2 MB)

Was wondering if I could get any assistance with this, or help me figure out why it is buffering so much, as no other media is doing that.

Just want to bump this. it is occurring again with other movies and is becoming quite annoying. At first I thought it was a disk issue, but none of the disks are reporting errors/issues, and the disk speeds seem reasonable to support a 4K movie.

Network wise, I am using a 1GB network, which should be more than adaquate to stream 4K content as well.

Would you be kind enough to generate proper logs ZIP please?

  1. Verify DEBUG logging is enabled, VERBOSE logging disabled (SAVE if changes)
  2. Start Playback
  3. Let play for 30 seconds or until buffer (whichever is sooner)
  4. Stop
  5. Let quiesce for 30 seconds
  6. Settings - Server - Troubleshooting - Download Logs
  7. Attach the ZIP file.
