Nvidia Shield, external USB drive, if you restart or power cycle, PLEX server loses configuration

Just purchased the 16GB Nvidia Shield. Running new version of Android TV and Plex server updates from Google store. Using USB external storage. Seagate Expansion 2TB Portable External Hard Drive USB 3.0 (STEA2000400). Everything works until you restart or power cycle the Shield and PLEX stops working. Server offline and ask you to capture localhost. Basically you have to start over again and rebuild PLEX server. I factory restored Shield multiple times. I uninstalled PLEX countless times. Assuming it was something wrong with the Shield I received as a Christmas gift I actually purchased another one yesterday and same result. So it’s either the USB drive I’m using or something with the PLEX version running on Android TV. Normally I would scrap this effort and move on but I recently purchased the Plex Lifetime subscription due to my many years of success in the Windows world. I guess if you never turn off your Shield and never lose power to your house this is a great solution. Any suggestions on how to resolve this problem? Thank you in advance for your help.

I’m having the same issue with mine. It kills my server every time I move my data to external storage. Which means I have to go and rebuilt it, only for it to happen again. I haven’t had a stable, working media center for about two weeks now.

I’ve been having nothing but issue with Plex since Nvidia pushed out their latest updates, and it’s getting to the point where I considering just dumping the whole setup. It’s been nothing but a huge headache since before Christmas.

Plex Media Server version 1.14.1.5490 has been released which should resolve the issue of losing the Plex Media Server application data when making use of the feature to move the data to user accessible storage or external storage
