Nvidia Shield Plex Media Server does not allow me to migrate server storage to USB storage

I have an Nvidia Shield Plex Server that I have had to re-install due to the Android update. I was able to re-install and get the server up and running. However, I am unable to move the server local storage to my external USB drive connected to the device.

Whenever I go to Settings → PLEX Media Server → Storage location…
It provides two options for internal storage options (system and user storage) but does not show the external storage device. I can see the USB drive is recognized by the Shield and already attempted to erase and format as a shield storage device.

This recent upgrade has been painful–trying to find time to get this to work–Im hoping this is the last blocker :wink:

A very long thread on the topic.

Looks like you’ll need the 3rd hotfix from Nvidia and an updated build from Plex.

Read the thread for details before installing anything. Other steps may be needed to get your system up and running.

thanks for the updates. I installed the latest hotfix… I was able to configure the server to use the external drive… Was able to a watch a movie with the family. However, the next morning, the server is down again :frowning:
