Really new to all of this, so apologies in advance if I’m not using the right terms, posting in the wrong spot, etc…
I’m using an Nvidia Shield with a USB 3.0 (Sandisk 128GB) flashdrive as internal storage with a HD Homerun Connect Duo and an OTA antenna. The HD Homerun and Shield are both connected via Ethernet. I have it setup to DVR a handful of shows.
My issue is that ‘live tv’ consistently drops out and buffers - it does not appear to matter which channel (ABC, PBS, etc…). When watching OTA tv just via the antenna there are zero issues - only when connected to the HD Homerun and trying to watch via Plex.
Is my issue with our bandwidth? I attached a shot of the bandwidth usage…it’s definitely buffering/stuttering during the drops, and then of course the audio no longer matches up with the picture.
But…I can’t imagine it’s our Internet/router…we never have issues streaming Netflix or YouTube and used to have PS Vue without any issues - all with the same router and the same Shield. Even on WiFi it’s not an issue to stream. Our Live TV issues are happening when nothing else is using the network…
I literally have no clue how to even troubleshoot and am thinking I’ve wasted money on the HD Homerun and the Plex Pass. Any help?
Thanks!
