what the hell is going on with this plex for shield? is anyone looking at it at all?
the SERVER OPTION is complectely GONE that means we cant USE external HD for the ■■■■■■ metadata storage , can somneone reach out to one of the devs , i think there’s been enough topic about it and redit is flooded with same issue … it’s NOT A SHIELD problem.
Still there on mine and I don’t see anything in/plex or /shieldandroidtv

yeah, my old shield pro i downgraded firmware then reinstalled plex and still have no server at all in the option , i wiped the shield multiple times then i bought a new one to make sure my shield wasent bricked , new shield pro installed an OLD server apk , still no server option , then installed the new beta one and still nothing . so something very weird happened it cant be shield updates because there havent been any in a long time. i only want to use the damn external drive and i cant.
if i transfer the plex server manually to external then i cant use my shared mounts i get an error trying to watch a movie so its probably because of write access…
i have a seconds shield it as the server but it’s been going for a long time , its if you install NEW that your going to get the server missing…
Nope works fine. Just installed it new. You are searching for “plex media server” in the play store, right? It’s a problem on your end.
go in settings and show me your server option , did it let you choose an external Drive?
unless there is a permission change on google / android of some sort it cant be on my end it’s not complicated , you install plex on a new shield and it should ask you if you want to use an external HD , plex should ask you if you want to move the server , but it dosent and there is no server option in the settings at all
Open Plex → Settings → Plex Media Server - Storage location → Let’s Do It! → Internal Storage (user accesible storage location)
Doesn’t exsist and i need to find another way to use external for the plex.
