Server Version#: 1.40.3.8502 (smb)
Player Version#: 10.16.0.758
After moving my shield to a new location (within the same household), my plex server seems to have spontaneously vanished. More specifically the ‘server’ doesn’t seem to be running, despite the ability to open and force stop the app, the app redirects to the client app, which can’t see the server, and no options exist in the client settings for the server (a blank header ‘Plex Media Server’ with no options is there only, with the next category immediately below).
I would really like to recover my server and get it working again without having to wipe the database. Is it possible to uninstall and reinstall the app without doing this? Can anyone advise me?
I have rebooted the shield multiple times, I updated the server and client apps, have even tried putting both the server and client apps onto the latest betas, all to no avail. The server seems to simply not exist.
Is it possible to extract the server / database information from the shield itself to move it / recover it in a different location? Keep in mind I have no access to the server settings in the client app.
I’ve also tried force stopping and reopening, uninstalling and reinstalling the plex client, clearing both the plex caches and shield caches, all with zero change. The server seems to essentially not be running on startup.
The local ip of the shield can be pinged, but the :32400/web address times out / fails.
Any help much appreciated.
