I’m utilizing nVidia Shield PRO 2019s and Sonos Arcs for my setup. Audio for all formats except AAC work great. However, Arc does not support AAC/AAC 5.1. I have no way of disabling AAC in nVidia Shield settings like other codecs can be. Now, I’m having a hell of a time figuring out how I can force Plex to transcode all AAC content so this issue doesn’t pop up. I love having all the other codecs supported natively by Sonos so it would be great if I could force something here in Plex. Any thoughts?
This has been an ongoing issue for many of us. Even if there was a way on the Plex server to force all AAC to transcode to, say AC3, that would be great. I have the shield 2019 and all my AAC 5.1 plays as stereo. I would love it if it would transcode on the server. There is a feature request dating back to 2020 for this, but it has not happened.
