In my ongoing adventure of fighting Plex, I keep seeing this error in my logs and thought it may be related to my Plex instability.
Jun 20, 2022 08:20:30.782 [23705] DEBUG - [Transcode] Starting a transcode session byi4qdx7ft7uyo14yqv7l5in at offset -1.0 (state=3) Jun 20, 2022 08:20:30.782 [23705] ERROR - [Transcode] Error creating directory "plex_temp_transcode": Read-only file system Jun 20, 2022 08:20:30.784 [23705] DEBUG - [Transcode] TPU: hardware transcoding: enabled, but no hardware decode accelerator found Jun 20, 2022 08:20:30.784 [23705] DEBUG - [Transcode] [Universal] Using local file path instead of URL: /storage/DS418/share1/plex/Documentaries/The Gatekeepers/The Gatekeepers.mkv Jun 20, 2022 08:20:30.784 [23705] DEBUG - [Transcode] TPU: hardware transcoding: final decoder: , final encoder: Jun 20, 2022 08:20:30.784 [23705] ERROR - [Transcode] Error creating directory "plex_temp_transcode": Read-only file system
When I try to set the location I don’t get any prompt for a drive so I assume the directory is automatically placed in a fixed location. The Shield has an attached USB drive that is used to store the metadata, etc (in theory as when I pull up and look at the drive I see no data) and the media itself is stored on the NAS.
Can anyone shed some light on the error and what I should be setting the “Transcoder Temporary Directory” value to?
