I am running a plex server on an Nvidia shield, with an external 500GB SSD adopted as internal storage for the Nvidia shield. I did this because I was often getting an error when trying to DVR shows saying something like “not enough disc space to start the recording”. I assumed there was not enough internal storage on the Nvidia shield itself. It worked for a while, but now I am getting that same error. What is the transcoder temporary directory that I should specify? Right now it is /SD card/Plex Media Server/Transcode, but I am wondering if this should be something else. Or, should I be setting this SSD as external storage and specifying a transcode location on there?
It will be the same path as the transcoder temporary directory, if you left it at default it will be where the software was installed.
Change the the transcoder to a path on the SSD to be sure.
If your SSD has write errors you will get that message.
Download the logs from Server Settings > Troubleshooting > Download Logs , use the web app https://app.plex.tv/web.
