@“MovieFan.Plex”
I’d like to suggest an enhancement to your very helpful ‘Top Feature Requests’ thread that may make it a bit more useful.
Could you highlight what has changed from one update to the next? I’m not worried about items moving up or down the list due to vote totals. I’m thinking, when an item moves to the ‘Implemented’ list, or when an item appears on the top list for the first time, make it in bold text. That simple step would make it easier to see what has changed.
Highlighting things that have recently been implemented is a good idea. I’m not sure about the other. The point of the thread was not to highlight specific requests. It may give the wrong impression of importance.
Might give the wrong impression of importance how? As in the Team’s relative importance to fluff and things we don’t want? Or as in the importance us USERS place on a request?
That’s been one of the huge disconnects I think… The Team’s emphasis for fluff and niche hardware, and the user’s importance on functionality and tools.
Personally I think every post with more than 500 votes and older than 2 years should be highlighted and bolded. And taken to the next Team meeting as points of immediate discussion and action. There are way too many things in that list that should have been finished up already. That post should be updated on a weekly basis and we, the users, should be kept apprised of the development cycle of those top requests.
Entirely too much is kept away from us, that should be brought to our discussion to ensure we are getting the features we actually WANT and not what we get.
Time and time again it comes down to communication. We communicate what we want, and get ignored… When will the Team realize that it’s time to start talking to people?

An additional bullet point at the top of the post explaining “Items in bold are new additions to the list” takes care of that. Anyway, it’s just a thought.
Highlighting new entries I can get behind. I don’t want to do anything about the entries listed at the top to give the impression that because this entry is highlighted, that it is more important or special than the others. The idea of the thread was just to indicate how many votes the request had, period, nothing more. I could potentially put in things like changes in position, changes in votes, and other statistical information, but none of that was my intent.
The votes are listed in my thread so if you wanted to take the numbers, put it into a spreadsheet and make a post with your own statistical analysis, I have no objections. It’s just not something I wanted to do or intended that thread to convey.
So in other words the purpose of that thread is to give us users a sense of false hope that the Team is aware of our wants for the suite.
The purpose of that thread as mentioned right at the top, is so people can find requests easier and see how they stood in terms of votes.
We are aware of all these requests. Some are actively being worked on, some are on the to-do list, and some are on the back burner. The requests and votes are not in vein, even it if may appear that way. It’s just a matter of priorities and resources.
This request was solely for highlighting new entries to the lists. Other suggestions should be in their own threads.
I gather this has been pointed out before but I’ll point it out here if not.
There are three different threads (in your list alone, more if you search the forum) requesting essentially the same thing: A Modern/Complete Collections Interface. If the totals for these three, essentially the same, requests were added together it would make it the 6th most requested change.
