Odd meta data issue

Server Version#: 1.29.1.1974-a65b3ef3
Player Version#: NA
I’ve got an odd problem; For some reason the server shows every song I have as ‘Romeo and Juliet Soundtrack’.

AC/DC - Romeo and Juliet Soundtrack
Billy Thorpe - Romeo and Juliet Soundtrack
Rob Zombie - Romeo and Juliet Soundtrack

I’ve looked at the meta data in VLC and don’t see that anywhere, I know this is strange but, any ideas?

Please show how these albums are organized on your file storage.

Just .mp3 files stored in a single folder.

This doesn’t work with Plex.

Well, I can’t go and rename 2000 files…

With the right software, this is done relatively quickly.

You could use e.g. mp3tag to read the embedded meta tags of your files and then create the necessary folder structure automatically.

But make sure that all your tags already have “AlbumArtist” meta tags.
(This is different than the regular “Artist” tag!)
Each album must have the same content in the “AlbumArtist” tags of all files.

Some details: Telling Plex to ignore music files already processed? - #12 by OttoKerner

Downloaded and installed, this looks promising.
I don’t suppose you would know the correct format string to use for Plex?

Scratch that, I think i’ve got it figured out, Plex is now reorganizing all my music!

Thanks!
