Odd transcode issues - only with a few movies

This is my first post, so let me know if I’m in the wrong section.

Setup:
Unraid 6.10.3 - i5 8700k no GPU
Plex in docker (official Plex)
Transcoding to ram 2x16

Media files are in h.264 1080P

Using hardware acceleration

Tried playing these movies on a Sony and Hisense android TVs and my MacBook Pro.

I don’t have a lot of movies or shows, but I noticed about 6 of them are having troubles playing. I’ve downloaded the movies again and same errors:

  splitting the input into NAL units.

When I try to play these movies I will get a loading symbol for awhile and then Plex will crash or give me an error message to try again.

I’ve tried:

• restarting my server
• deleting the files in the codecs folder and restarting Plex.

Since other files play OK, probably defective media.

The error message says, Invalid data found when processing input, which also points to the media files.

Some things to try:

1. Acquire from a different source.
2. Remux using MKVToolNix. Long shot, but it might work (if the problem is with the MKV container, not the individual tracks).
3. Re-encode using Handbrake or similar tools. Might clean things up.

Looks like I’m unable to play any file that’s not h.265 and I’ve played these movies before

So any file that’s h.264, I can not view.

Most of my errors now will state:

• Invalid NAL unit size
• not a valid DCA frame
