Offical Plex app on LG Webos (OLED) should be able to passthrough Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD, ATMOS ++

I’am super happy with Plex on LG but i’am missing Atmos output on ARC from Plex.
Want to make a request for you guys to implement TrueHD, Atmos passtrough support on the LG Webos (I have the 65C7 OLED) via ARC.
I know the TV itself can pass ATMOS through ARC (Netflix app on webos do this)

YES! Please allow the plex app to passthrough Atmos through ARC. Dumb having to switch to a different input to select nvidia shield just to experience this.

HD audio codecs (such as TrueHD and DTS-HD) cannot be passed through via ARC due to the bandwidth restrictions. Netflix is using DD+ (eac3) for their Atmos, which is why that can be passed via ARC. Enhanced ARC (eARC) should be able to handle HD audio codecs, but is not yet standard on devices.

Hi, i have just tested some dolby atmos demos on my 86LG UH9500 and although my onkyo 787 AVR says DD 5.1 up mixing to 5.1.4, it is my total belief that sounds exactly the same as when played by my HTPC with atmos on the AVR (5.|.4), and when i say it sounds exactly the same i am referring also to atmos effects, can this be true?

I have also tested the same files on apple tv with infuse pcm up mixing to 5.1.4 and they don’t sound the same quality (sound and atmos effects) vs the HTPC.

Any idea?

Thanks

The compressed atmos via Netflix still sounds great… we would be more than happy with this as a starting point
