The option only appears if ur PIL installation is functional and if yout ios is supported, my guess is that ur problem lies there
Like i have some movies with Greek text and in the fanartcache directory the image is there but the name is empty +_1080.jpg but in the movies with english titles is like that Sharknado+2+The+Second+One_1080.jpg
Interesting discovery... and yes, that's what the code says: to generate the filename remove all characters from the title that's don't fit into std. ASCII. I guess, we need better way to create the cache file names.

Maybe don't use the title at all, just some hash-tag based on it?
Just made a interesting discovery with fanart. If you have "Require authentication on local networks" enabled in your PMS then the fanart image will produce just a black image due to a 401 error when plexconnect tries to retrieve the art image from PMS

Remove the black image from the fanartcache directory, uncheck "Require authentication on local networks" in PMS, fanart will get the image with no problem

1) I wouldn't bet that the original title is always in English... there are much more countries around than just the US. :-D
2) We saw such an issue earlier already with different kinds of (transcoded) thumbs. We just need to add the "auth-thoken" to the file request...

Also i saw a strange graphic glitch?. When i go a tv show to see the seasons the fanart has some lines in the picture. (seasonview = Coverflow)

I have fanart showing correctly now with latest git pull, but now there is nothing saved to the fanartcache directory. Not a huge issue for me.
Restarted PlexConnect fixed this.

The new TV Episode fanart/template appears to push the preview image (the image on the left side of the screen) down to the bottom of the screen rather than up near the episode title.

If you mean he preplay screen then yep, unfortunately that's the only place the aTV lets you put it :(

I'm guessing you're not on iOS 8 yet :) I'm working on it :)

And make sure to turn fanart on in both:-
Settings->Movie Options->Movie Fanart
Settings->TV Show Options->TV Show Fanart

Umm... the episode preplay screen has never had a trailer button.... maybe on one of the unofficial themes, but never on the official PlexConnect.

Double check your installing the correct PIL/Pillow version for your python version
Roidy i am using the official release only.
The button of trailer in preplay screen was never in the official release neither on any other release. The button is appearing inside an episode menu.
I will delete everything and download the latest release again and i will let you know
