Official PlexConnect Fanart views

Have you tried rebooting your aTV?

>>It seems that my apple tv store the backround pics and if i change them on the server the further pic is still on my atv. Can you help that i can change the oics there, too?

How do you change the fan art on PMS? My understanding is, that the new picture would get a new name (id), which then gets coded into the cached background picture file name... So aTV should find the new file on its own. That doesn't happen?

I’m not sure how you do it from pms, I prefer to do it right from plexconnect (which obviously grabs all available fanart from pms):

How do you change the background fanart from plexconnect?

Edit: forget it, I’ve found it.

I changed it via the edit function on the psm. There is a option called background and there you can change it. Unfortunatly will the ATV making the change, too.

What you showed me is the poster and there is no problem with changing it.

I'm new and I have a problem that if I post fanart show tells me imovie theater is not available try again later, if I leave hide it all works.

could someone help me?

sorry for my english use google translate

With the latest Plexconnect I have an issue that when I select Change Artwork from the menu, iMovie Theatre crashes (I get a spinner then it jumps back to the main ATV page). When I try it again right away it will then show me the alternative Posters and Fan Arts. I haven't updated the ATV firmware to iOS 8 yet.

I have the same issue -- since the commit where fanart was added to the Change Artwork menu, my aTV crashes and restarts after the second or third time I invoke the menu.  It seems to depend on how many fanart alternatives are available or some other variable.  If I a pick movies with just a few fanart selections, all is fine until maybe the fifth movie.  If I pick movies with lots of fanart selections (some have 12 or more), then the aTV crashes on the second movie.  In my case I have an Apple TV 3 with the latest iOS 8 update 7.0.1 (6912).

Yeah, for me it happens the first time I try in any given session but then subsequent tries, even with different movies or shows, it will work. Wait a while try again and the crash occurs. Repeat.

Not sure what’s causing this issue, but I’ve now separated out the Poster and Fanart into 2 different menus to ease the amount of images the aTV has to load. Hope this will cure the problem.

I pulled the latest commit and now have the "Change Fanart" menu entry, but when I select it I get the dreaded "iMovie Theater is unavailable." message.  I don't get any errors in my log file (even at loglevel High).

Movie or TV Show?

I only tried with Movies.

Try with TV Shows please.

Also please post all the required bug reporting info:- How-to-report-an-issue

Its working for me in both TV and Movies.

roidy,

The Change Fanart -> "iMovie Theater is unavailable" problem happens with TV and Movies, but only when I run PlexConnect on my Linux (CentOS 6.5) box.  I'll troubleshoot a bit more before I dump log files here.  I moved PlexConnect to my iMac and the Change Fanart menu comes up fine.  However...

The new separate Change Poster / Change Fanart helps because there are fewer images, but my aTV still crashes when I Change Fanart on a movie with more than 12 selections (more than one screenful).  The first 12 come up fine, but when I click down to see more, crash/restart.  At least that happens when I scroll down too quickly while the images are updating.  Probably nothing you can do about this.  Sometimes Hulu also crashes so it's clearly an Apple TV problem fundamentally.

Just ran into a weird bug. One of my TV shows fanart is actually a repeat of another TV shows fanart.. what could be happening here?

Is this true in PlexWeb as well or just PlexConnect?

No. Plexweb has no issues whatsoever with this.

Guess we need some more specifics/logs then :)

Oh and reboot the ATV just to make sure the issue doesn't disappear.
