Okay another JOKE on me ? From PLEX

After purchasing PLEX Lifetime and making me dump Windows 7 I built a Windows 11 Pro machine with Quadro P2200 with 32 gig and i7-3770

All updates are current with Server and Players and this really does HAPPEN WAY too many times.

I get the Something Went Wrong LOL “It looks like something went wrong. Please try again.”

Well when I am away using the internet this happens all the time and it works the second time. Go figure annoying when my family gets this and shuts this down and complains to me saying NETFLIX is better GRrrrrrrrrr !

Tonight at home with the server right behind me using a New Insignia Amazon TV on the ethernet I hear the hard drive spin up 5 seconds later get the Dumb error.
My PC is set not to go to sleep and the drives are idle. Is PLEX sleeping ? because the second time it works.

So I guess there is no Repair for this failure ? Just live with the double click

Your drives might be sleeping and taking longer than expected to spin up at which point it works. But I don’t know your system.

I have the same issue, the timeout that Plex introduced some time ago is too short for the usual spinup time of HDDs

Yes if you go into the Hard Drive settings over ride the spin down while idle. So now PLEX wants to KILL your Hard Drive when its not being used ! When I clicked on the movie instantly heard my drive spin UP behind me no DELAY ! But PLEX still sends the error ! And My DRIVES are Brand New Seagate 16TB HDD Exos X16 7200 RPM 512e/4Kn SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache 3.5-Inch Enterprise Hard Drive.

So I guess the Server PLEX is not being updated … Everyone getting laid off and looking for revenue from the Streaming services they have. Our Library is not important. No wonder I am having trouble with my family using my PLEX !!! Anyone that opens it and gets an ERROR ! moves on to another APP why bother with my PLEX !!!

Guess Check me in the Column “A Fool and his money are easily parted”

My Drives if you want to call it sleeping are Idle and as soon as I click something to play I hear my drive which are literally 6 feet from behind me spin up no time passes. This is PLEX software related on nanoseconds on the response time needs to add 10 more nanoseconds or so

P.S. and its on a gig ethernet zero travel time outside of the home

No, the problem is not the time, that passes before the drives spin up, thats literally instant.

The problem is, that data can not be read from the drives until they are totally spun up.
Typical spinup times for larger drives are about 8 to 15 seconds.

Well, I guess that makes sense From 1 to 4 TB Drives But PLEX has not adjusted for Massive Libraries on many 16TB drives… Maybe they can ask Netflix who wrote their code.
