I have a bunch of old TV shows that have been rebooted (Lost in Space, Hawaii 5-O, The Prisoner) and all the metadata points to the reboots - is there a way to get around this?
hi, great taste. Sure jez label the showfiles with the year-of-release, and match it with the scraper of choice. I use the tvdb…
~ TIP: look for the show using google, instead of their wonky search engine
~ verify the year-of-release, show-name, so forth and the metadata should lock in right.
lemme know if u need more help.

This!
Example:
TV Shows← your tv-show folder
.. / Lost in Space (1965)← referring to TheTVDB
.. .. / Season 01
.. .. .. / Lost in Space (1965) - s01e01.ext←extreferring to your file’s extension (e.g. mkv/mp4)
.. .. .. / Lost in Space (1965) - s01e02.ext
.. .. .. / Lost in Space (1965) - s01e03.ext
.. .. .. / ...
.. .. .. / Lost in Space (1965) - s01e29.ext
.. .. / Season 02
.. .. .. / Lost in Space (1965) - s02e01.ext
.. .. .. / ...
The year listed on TheTVDB.com when the show first aired should do… no extra google search needed ![]()
With Hawaii 5-O there is also the specialty that the newer show uses a zero instead of a capital O in its title.
