The issue is they are unrated. The reason for it is because we were being extra careful about unrated porn getting through. There is back end work going on to make things better but sorry i can’t provide an ETA
I had this other post where @OttoKerner says the same thing about unrated Movie. Added the rating and other informations in TMDB and weeks later, it finally got added in watch.plex.tv.
I did the same thing with my last post but after over a year of monitoring it, it’s not getting added. I tried to make an experiment and corrected a lot of movies for the same actor in tmdb but still nothing. Even tried matching the information in IMDB.
The back end work that BigWheel mentioned is probably not done yet but is there any other things that we are missing, other than adding certification and release date? Or it could be old/unpopular/foreign movie is just not being re scraped anymore so won’t probably get added to plex main database or watch.plex.tv?
We’ve been working to expand what is available via Search or a Filmography page on Plex while balancing the quality of search results and our ability to filter out adult content. Today the rules that govern what can be found on the platform are based on several factors that include the presence of a content rating, if the title has already been released, it’s availability to stream on Plex or other services, and the number of ratings a title may have on IMDB or TMDB. As we work to expand the list of searchable titles these rules may change.
There was probably a manual scan/recheck of this movie cause it’s been added to plex’s but there are still other movies not being rechecked where details like rating were updated over a year ago.
All these factors you mentioned are already there. Unless stream availability is a mandatory which might not be a good thing because a lot of old/foreign/obscured movie is not (and probably will not be) on any streaming services.
There should be more but I just hope there is a way to have plex recheck these movies/shows without posting in the forum. Like if it’s added into someone’s Library, then plex will consider checking them on their next scan schedule (if that’s how it work) and add them to their own database.
You might have to enable “Include adult content” (temporarily) for them to get recognized.
That is not the main issue. I can still look this up using the default plex agent and match it. Plex agent can still pull metadata from TMDB/IMDB even if it’s not on their own database (watch.plex.tv/Filmography/Plex online database). The problem is adding these there so all these/movies and show will appear on these actors Filmography.
I think there is no automated way to make plex rescan/recheck older movies/shows that was initially missing these entries (like rating, etc) so even if modification was made, it’s not going to be added like what I experienced after monitoring these movies,after adding other details like rating, for over a year.
There are a lot more out there that’s not added to plex’s database yet and I see that they are mostly missing ratings. I actually edited a lot of them. But after months that I didn’t see them get added, I just thought to ask what else is needed.
