Server Version: Plex Media Server for Linux 1.18.0.1944-f2cae8d6b
Player Version: iOS 6.2
The “On Deck” section of my home screen now includes 5 shows which I am not currently watching, and is not including new episodes of shows that I am currently watching.
EDIT: The five other shows listed have not been watched at all, and have had no new episodes added in a long time. They just appeared yesterday.
Is there a way to manually remove shows from On Deck? And how should I ensure shows I am watching are included?
by careful manipulation of the show’s watched status - and the setting for ‘Weeks to Consider for On Deck and Continue Watching’ - Settings/Server/Library
You will have to fiddle a bit, but:
make sure all previous onboard episodes, if there are any, are marked watched, if they’ve been watched. If they haven’t been watched, watch them.
If you have strays among the episodes in an odd state - watch them, or mark them so. If you add a stray episode you were missing, it’s unwatched and goes right to On Deck (maybe). Plex confuses easily here.
If you’ve watched 21 Seasons of South Park and add E1 of S22 it’s gonna go right to On Deck. Blessing or Curse, that’s gonna happen.
Unsure if this has trickled over to your platform, but the new server upgrade adds a setting for the number of On Deck Items. Too low and you have a lot of shows in Limbo Deck, waiting for an On Deck slot to open up… too high and it may lock up your display device cause it can’t handle the truth of having too many On Deck items activated…
Good Luck, Jim… this message will self destruct in 10 seconds…
Right now, there should only be two episodes from two shows on On Deck, as I’m only watching two shows regularly. There are six listed.
The other shows listed have not been watched, and have had no new episodes added in a long time. They just appeared yesterday. I don’t want them to be left marked as watched though – I just need them removed from On Deck.
The ‘long time’ bit is what you adjust in the server setting. Plex only knows what’s in the database and apparently, you have new episodes for shows you’ve watched in the past Plex is sure you need to watch now.
If you disagree, you’ll have to mark them played or unplayed manually - or watch them. There is no fancy trick (that doesn’t involve orbital mechanics math).
