Use On Deck a lot and it’s a great feature. But I have a few shows I started watching which I do not like. So I want to completely remove them from on Deck. I can not find a setting for that.
What happens is, I mark all episodes as watched, the show disappears - great. But since it’s a recent show receiving new episodes, the show keeps re-appearing whenever new episodes are added.
This is highly frustrating.
Can someone help me out or is this a bug in plex that needs to be fixed?
@syncopation said: @OttoKerner Thanks for your help. The unwatched option is not available on iOS or in PMP on macOS - at least I can’t find it. I can only find “mark as watched”.
If you have a partially watched show,
you must first mark the whole show as ‘watched’
and then you have the option to mark it as ‘unwatched’.
To remove the ‘On Deck’ items, go to Settings → Library → Show advanced settings → ‘Weeks to look at for On deck’ default is 16, changing to 0 will remove it.
So, I have this same issue. I watched a part of one episode in the middle of an unwatched series. This then causes that show to be “on deck”. I can mark that episode watched, but then the next one shows up. I found that I can mark them all watched and then unwatched and it clears the show from on deck. This isn’t a very good work around, IMHO. I have another show I used to watch, but have decided to stop. I don’t wish to mark these remaining episodes as watched, simply because I have not watched them. It is an ongoing series, so just waiting on the number of weeks parameter for them to clear isn’t really an option either. Setting this parameter to zero weeks isn’t an option either, because it will effect all shows in that library.
Ok, I may have figured it out. I selected just those episodes that were unwatched and marked them watched then back to unwatched. This removed them from on deck. Sorry for the long post for a short answer, but maybe it will help someone else!
For some reason marking the show as watched and then unwatched is not working for me. It is aggravating in the extreme. It would be so good if it worked. I need on deck to keep track of shows returning but it just doesn’t work.
If you watch a show the show sticks to on deck for ever. As I understand it you can mark the whole show played and then unplayed in the web app and the show should disappear for ever even when new shows come up.
However, the show disappears when I mark it as watched but then when new shows are scanned in the item reapers on deck.
If I mark it as played then unplayed the show appears again immediately with all the shows marked as unplayed. It was my understanding this was the method to make a show disappear from on deck but it does not work.
So now I have just turned the feature off using the weeks to show on deck to 0 but this is not ideal as the on deck feature is actually really good at tracking shows. If one was able to manage the shows shown and not shown.
It was so frustrating I almost destroyed my phone. I have to say they make Samsung galaxy s9’s damn tough.
I have a series that I record for someone else (another user not in my house) and I never watch it myself.
This series continues to show up in On Deck. I tried marking the entire current (and only) season as played and then unplayed and it just stays in On Deck.
Ya, doesn’t make sense because I’ve done this before and it worked. I have other shows that I do not watch that continually get recorded and added and never hit On Deck.
This, like many other minor fixes, remains unfixed. I used to be able to do the watched to unwatched thing, but this no longer is a working word-around.
But, hey! At least they’re throwing in loads of other new things that will eventually break and also get ignored.
im having the same problem. but doesnt anyone know where plex keeps a record of how long a show has been on deck??? if you could manually alter that number to higher than the weeks on deck number (or alter the date), it would disappear from on deck without having to mark anything as played or unplayed you dont want.
