On Deck only 40 items

Funny you say that cause as it stands now we have two hidden settings. One that is only accessible thru the Windows registry(and OS equivalences) and the other via PlexWeb when you select “Show Advanced”
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200289408-plex-web-app-settings/

Let’s just make another one ontop of that one. Let’s call it “Show Advanced, Advanced” ?
Sound good?

They are different things. The hidden preferences are really deeply under-the-hood things which don’t apply to 99% of users and might confuse them. Advanced preferences are the middle tier where maybe 25% of users are interested in them. And then basic preferences.

I’d personally like to make lots more things tweakable under the hood, and the hidden preferences allow us to do this cheaply, and it’s not hard for anyone who cares to change the settings.

‘Show under-the-hood’. Nice!!!
I like that much better than ‘Show Advanced, Advanced’

Sorry to disappoint, it won’t be in the UI.

For me is only important that I can increase the limit. No matter if in the UI or not. Thanks for this good news.

Come on @elan, humor me. Stay in my fantasy!!

No, but seriously. Now that we discovered the limit and plans are in the making. What will the default value be?
Will the PlexTeam keep at 40 or will you decrease the number?

It’ll stay where it is, there’s no huge reason to change the default as it covers the vast majority of users. I’ll definitely edit the preference on my own system and reduce it to 15 or so for extra perf

I believe I will too.

Any news to this?
I’m always reading the change log of the announcing section, but so far I haven’t read about a new hidden option.
Best wishes

Redacted.

Yesterday there was a new server update. In the change-log I don’t read anything about a hidden option. Is this still realized in the latest version? If so, what is the hidden option?

Yep - got 52 TV Shows in progress, yet only 34 of them appear in On Deck.

I guess Plex will tell me what I should and should not watch.

Now there is a new update for beta tester. In the change-log I don’t read anything about a hidden option. Is this still realized in this version? If so, what is the hidden option?

Today I see a new version for beta tester. But again, I don’t see anything in the change log like a hidden option for this problem. Perhaps it is already solved but not mention in the change log. Can anyone post how the hidden option is named.

Today there is a new version again for beta tester. But in the change log there is only one fix, but nothing about the new hidden feature. Can anyone explain how the new hidden feature is named (with an example how I can use it). I will try it.

How did you reduce it on your system? There have been a few updates but I still can’t find the setting anywhere.

I have so many problems. Fact is, I have at this time 48 tv shows and I’m waiting urgent for this hidden options. Today I will start two new tv shows and have to watch it with the tv app instead of plex. Why can you not answer to this thread… If there is already this hidden feature, then I want to know.

Please answer.

I’m sorry there is not any ETA. When it is it will be in the release notes most likely. Plex Media Server - #608 by gbooker02

He didn’t say he did. He said he will.

I got my hopes up. I assumed he changed his as this is a quote from a few releases ago:

Not sure what release it’ll be in, but given it’s such a simple change it’ll almost certainly be in the next release, but if not in the one after that.
