Getting a Shield will improve things in 2 ways:
- its ethernet port is not limited to 100 mbps
- it can play more audio and video and subtitle formats than the native Plex app for your TV – so the server has less often to transcode
You may want to wait a few more weeks (or mere days?) until the refreshed Shield models have been released: New shield leak - upgraded SOC + new remote + possible dolby vision
