OpenELEC presentation for PLEX?

I have been using the XBMC software bundled in the Linux OpenELEC package. Its small footprint and stable functionality is perfect for my ASUS C60M1-i based computer.

I prefer the User Cuddliness of PLEX however and I'd like to install that.

Is there an OpenELEC style package for the PLEX Media Center?

No there is not. I have been trying to build PHT on OpenELEC, but its currently limited by the little time I have for it, so that should hopefully be possible in the future. I have hit small audio bugs etc when building the image, but PHT can be compiled in place of XBMC. Rasplex is also based on OpenELEC.

Would be awesome! Hope we get plex on openelec in some days :) Thanks

There is a Plex addon for Openelec, which i have been using for a while now.

Heres the link: http://openelec.tv/forum/128-addons/57363-addon-plex-media-server .

I assume this is what you are looking for?

That add-on is for the server. I presume he is looking for the pmc/pht client instead.

You should check out the xbmc addon plexbmc, this is what i use at the moment and is working great!

Check 2 posts above yours ;).

PleXBMC is entirely different from what you posted.  PleXBMC ties Plex services into standard XBMC.  What you linked to installs Plex Media Server on OpenELEC.  Totally different.

Any update on Plex openELEC style?  I'm looking to do a build with an Intel NUC and would rather go with Plex than straight XBMC.

Same here: I would love to replace my old MacMini with a slim Linux install with PHT.

I am in a similar boat.  I run OpenElec at the min with the XBMCPlex addon but I still prefer the proper plex client.  Watched state not been set and issues with subs in some cases is driving me nuts.  90% of subs work just the shows i really want dont :)

Also i find the short eps with long credits don't get marked as watched so i need to mark them as watched on my phone.

any news? ;)

would love to see an openelec version of PHT for my zotac mini

the plexbmc plugin is full of bugs :(

i would love this on my HTPC.

How did you install it. maybe some of us can help you.

+1.  I have an AMD Fusion I would love to run it on.

I would suggest most of you go with PleXBMC and OpenELEC

Basically because both are actively maintained (OpenELEC just bumped to 3.2.0), I doubt any derivate of OpenELEC will get as much attention as the main OS

Only thing missing is an Plex skin clone that supports PleXBMC out of the box (I'd suggest using Amber which has excellent Plex support and reminds a lot of PHT)

Whats the status??

Whats the status??

I've updated the source to OE 3.2 and that merge broke my branch. So I have redone everything and changed the PHT compile to use new build method that OE 3.2 uses. Also reusing a lot of the configuration that xbmc bring to OE, so I don't know if this will run or explode. I'm still having an issue with compressing textures for the theme, so I have a temporary fix for that. The build compiles successfully, but I haven't tested it yet. I can upload the latest target that completed later today. It should end up here http://plexrpms.markwalker.dk/OpenELEC probably in a 3.2 folder or similar. Work is moving forward, and hopefully next month I can afford the switch box it need to hook up all my devices to my cinemadisplay, so I can do testing more efficiently.
