I had to recently to flash my OC2 to the latest OpenPHT version available (1.9.0). I did a rookie mistake by not doing a backup before my reinstall and for the life of me, i can’t remember how i went about setting up my Harmony One controller to work. I use to have OpenPHT 1.8.0 and i don’t believe there is much change between 1.8.0 and 1.9.0
I think my remote should have work of the box but it didn’t. I try to follow the steps indicated in the following link for Harmony remote (https://www.msldigital.com/pages/logitech-harmony), but I don’t seemed to locate the config.txt file it is talking about.
Can someone guide me on locating or providing the required files to setup up my Harmony Remote on OpenPHT on my C2?
The problem i seem to have is to locate the config.txt once i have install the image on my SD card. There isn’t any config.txt file in the root for the C2 image. I did a test today by reflashing my SD with OpenPHT 1.8.0 and my Harmony remote worked right way without any configuration changes. Seems like there is something wrong with 1.9.0 image, which i got from the official site (https://github.com/Veisen/OpenPHT/releases). Anyways, i won’t spent further time on this since it working with 1.8.0. I will stick with that version. I don’t think there was a big difference between 1.8.0 and 1.9.0 beside a few additional fixes. While we are on the subject, i was thinking of replacing my OC2 with something as compact, more powerful but not too expansive. Any suggestions? My OC2 is serving me well but it seems to struggle a bit when handling 4K formats.
Thank for your help trumpy81!
I guess i will stick with my OC2. Overall, I am satisfied with it and i don’t have too many 4K files either…lol. I do have one last question for you for which you may have an answer. As you know, with the default image OpenPHT on the OC2, there isn’t a way to power off the OC2 using the power off function on the remote, thus the OC2 always remains opened (Thank God there is a way to get rid of the annoying blue flashing light…lol). Do you know if it is feasible to configure the power on/off of the OC2 on my Harmony remote. Not that i mind leaving the OC2 open all the time, as the power consumption is fairly low, but I find that if it stays on for a long period of time, strange things start happening.
It worked well for me but i was never able to get my Harmony remote to work with this version. Using a keyboard didn’t cut for me. Perhaps you will have better luck than I did.
Does the ODROID support CEC through the HDMI? Wouldn’t the regular TV remote control it even without using the IR receiver on the ODROID itself? I am considering buying one and that’s a big selling point so let me know lol I use a Raspberry Pi 3b right now and it’ll be nice to cut down on transcoding my x265 content (and I don’t even have any 4k files lol)…
