@WilhelmStroker would be great if you can test it with OpenPHT ! Specially playing a 10bit HEVC file
It direct plays them at 1080P.
4K HEVC 10bit is not working at the moment though.

Well, I canāt at the moment as Android 6 beta breaks the functionality to boot from SD
So donāt do that if you want OpenPHT

The specs support it, but there a hardware decode issue. I hope to see a fix rolled into a future release.
Hello,
in first page i read:
āUpdate 2016/12/07
Remote does not power on WeTek Hub after a power off from OpenPHT. However, the internal Android installation will power on the WeTek after a power off. This must be resolved in WeTeks code. The OpenPHT team has sent them some code and we hope WeTek will implement them in a future WeOS update. Fixed in latest WeOS and OpenPHT 1.7.2ā
Where do you download openPHT 1.7.2?? Plz.
Because my Hub is on openPHT 1.7.1 and itās impossible to power on the Hub with an remote.
Hi,
Does anyone have the WeTek Hub and Odriod C2 and can give a comparison of how OpenPHT runs on them (any big differences)?
Also i read in one of the comments that 4K HVEC is not currently working on this but i believe it does work on the C2?
Is it possible to install OpenPHT on the internal eMMC module instead of using the SD card?
Was just about to pull the trigger on the Odriod C2 then saw this post. So just want to make sure i make the right choice before buying my next client device, thanks

Itās still being developed as the next bug release version. We do not have a release date yet, but work is moving more quickly on it now.

WeTek is dual bootable pretty much out of the box. C2 has more RAM. They both suffer from the same GPU issues and there is a memory leak in LibreElec effectively causing periodic freezing. This will be fixed in a future version of LibreElec, which means it will be fixed in a future version of OpenPHT. I prefer the WeTek hub so far, but the cheaper C2 has been more popular on the forum.
Also i read in one of the comments that 4K HVEC is not currently working on this but i believe it does work on the C2?
They share the same GPU chipset so the issue affects both of them.

Yes to C2, not sure to the WeTek at this time. You have to use an SD card to reimage the internal NAND on the WeTek and Iāve never tried it.

Odroid C2 is great if you donāt need the extra features of the WeTek hub or need more a frugal solution. They both have some issues because the hardware is relatively new to the Kodi/LibreElec/OpenPHT scene and the dev groups need to flush out problems as they go. I expect them to be more of the goto devices over other low cost going forward. But only time will tell.
Took the plunge and bought a Wetek Hub.
Feedback so far;
Liking this Wetek so far.
No issues with built-in Ethernet NIC here. Iād be interested in what you find @nielsvdp .
FYI: 4K 10Bit HEVC support fixed in version 1.8.

Strange on the NIC - would really want the 1GB ethernet to play them 4k 10bit HEVC !!!
Thanks for the update on 1.8 - I cannot wait !
TEsted the NIC again - attached log from when the movie is displaying on screen (me pressing the BLUE button for info - shows that the cach builds up to 5 megs, then empties to a few kb and then halts)
Hopefully it can be seen in the logs what the issue is.
Wireles on 5GHZ is perfectly fine.
My mate, who lives down the road, remotely direct plays these files too - also in wired NIC same crashes.
Ran few more tries with the info button - shows that the buffer sticks around 5 megs for about a minute or so, then starts building up rapidly. The buffer doesnt fill straight from the start.
I have a class 10/U1 SD card capable of writing at 20MB/s.
@nielsvdp I suspect either you have an issue with the wired network topology or you may have gotten a faulty hub. Iāve experienced no issues with the NICs ability to negotiate with the switch. Do you have auto negotiation set on your switch ports? If so, you may want to set that directly to 1 Gb for the hub and try again.
Can you describe your wired network setup?
For example: cable modem model -> router model -> switch model
PMS and Wetek Hub are both plugged into the switch.
@benjaminwolf - thanks. Iāve tried a few things already - even connecting straight onto the router (where the server is located too) - all set to 1Gb connection - still wont budge - the 1Gb connection keeps the buffer around 5 megs, and increasing a minute later.
My setup is as follows;
server - Fritz Box 7490 - Netgear Switch (the one vlan capable, all disabled) then the wetek hub.
Also took out the netgear, and same issue.
Funny is though, my friend connects via internet (direct play) and experiences the same issue⦠He also has a Fritz 7490 though.
thanks for helping out.
Can you try moving the PMS and the hub down to the switch and try a stream? It sounds like the router might be the bottle neck. The connection shouldnāt leave the switch then, and we could rule out itās port speeds.
Yes, thats the next step - but need time to do this
Will report back
Spoke too soon - the wireless has same issue - although it doesnt lose connectivity now, the buffer stays low and builds up later. Wireless is AC and connects around 300-400.
(testing with 2.5gb and 20gb files btw)
@benjaminwolf - 1.8 seems to have fixed this. I am now able to use Gigabit wired. So is my friend who is playing them remote.
However, the āissueā is still there that the buffer (in Mbās) doesnt increase rapidly on every movie - sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt.
About 1.8 - 4k HEVC files play fine - except a 110GB copy of Fury - the bitrate on this film shoots upwards to 140-150Mbps (using the info at top of screen).
Every other file that is around 50GB plays absolutely fine !!!
Here are details on the Fury file;

Oh my God the Same Bug like Raspberry Pi“s with LIRC⦠Issue: Go Back don“t Stop Playback
Anybody with an idea to use this with the Wetek Remote? https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/247551/lircmap-xml-changes-in-1-7-1#latest
The only issue I had with my Wetek Hub was CEC randomly turning my TV on, which drove me nuts. I ended up disabling CEC on my TV, since I use a Harmony Hub anyway. Everything else works great. I have not had any issues playing Blu-Ray remuxes at any bit-rate.
