OpenPHT wants to connect to outside IP on port 20020

Hi, whenever I start OpenPHT on my Mac LittleSnitch informs me that it wants to connect to an outside IP on port 20020.

The address/ip (that is referenced/hashed with a bunch of numbers as df30eb91147df8967f1d14a45794f.plex.direct) is unknown to me and points to a dhcp assigned number on Dutch internet provider Chello (which hasn’t existed for ages and is in effect provider Ziggo now).

As it happens I’m also a customer with Ziggo, but get assigned a different ip. So, I deny the connection. I would like to know what this could be before I make it a ‘permanent deny’ to lose the popup. Since invited connections are dealt with by the server, there’s no reason for OpenPHT to have to connect to any ip numbers, I would think.

Can’t find any reference to port 20020 on this forum either. Thanks in advance!

Host names of the format <ipWithDashesInsteadOfDots>.<hexDigits>.plex.direct are the names of plex servers which have been given a TLS cert. The hexDigits are associated with a single server and they do change after the certificate expires and it fetches a new one.

The port 20020 is different from normal but it can occur when a server is behind a firewall and uses UPNP or similar to obtain a port forward to it.

Most likely, this is your server or a server that is shared with you.

Thanks so much for the clear answer! I only have two servers shared with me - I’ll ask if the ‘prime suspect’ has the ip in question.
