Hi, I`ve been using a 2017 model nvidia shield as a Plex Media Server + player,
most of the time its fine with Direct Play whilest at home, but when on phone / tablet etc, transcoding takes effect.
it can be hit and miss depending on client settings. network speed etc etc.
So i looked at testing the Optimised versions to try and stop transcoding when not at home.
Ive seen people on here suggest having a seperate set ofoptimised Libraraysfor the when out and about, surely, as theres other client-side specific settings in the phone / tablets App, that there should be an option like Prefer Optimised Version (if it exists) for whichever film / TV episode thats trying to be played at that time?
Is that not the simplest way of going about it?, no extra Libraries or anything like that…
