I need to optimize a couple of movies to watch on my projector using a USB stick. I tried choosing a subtitle on the pre-play screen and then optimizing with the Original and Mobile profiles, but the subtitle is not burned into the video. Instead it is in an external .srt file. It is important to burn in the subtitle because my projector cannot read Arabic subtitles properly.
Any solutions?
Use a different Profile while doing the optimization. If you use “Optimize for TV”, subtitles will often end up in a separate file.
If you choose “Optimize for mobile”, subtitles get burned in.
If the default “Optimize for mobile” creates too low a quality, use the “Custom” profile instead.
Use as basis the “Universal Mobile” profile and then set the bitrate to your liking.
I tried Mobile profile before with no luck. I noticed optimizing happens so quickly that it is unlikely it is doing any conversion.
Then try the “Windows” or “Xbox” profiles too.
