Optimized Version Transcoding Fails - mov_text Error

Server Version#: 1.23.6.4881
Player Version#: N/A
Server OS: Windows Server 2019 (1809 build 17763.2061)

I’m attempting to create optimized versions for all movies in a couple of my libraries for easy transfer over to the kid’s iPads. As such, in the optimized versions section, I’m using Plex’s “Custom” option and selecting a profile of “iOS” at 2Mbps, 720p.

For the vast majority of files, this works without issue, but there are four files for which the transcode fails.

A high level summary of these files looks like:

MOVIE1: 4K Remux, eac3 audio -> Stream Map Error
MOVIE2: 4K Encode, dca audio -> Stream Map Error
MOVIE3: 4K Remux, eac3 audio -> mov_text Error
MOVIE4: 4K Remux,  dca audio -> mov_text Error

Because the ultimate error messages are different, I thought it would be appropriate to split things into two separate posts, one for the Stream Map errors and one for the mov_text errors.

.
This post is regarding the two files that fail with the following mov_text error:

ERROR - [Transcoder] Invalid encoder type 'mov_text'

I’m just a rookie when it comes to looking at Plex logs, so I’m wondering if folks would be able to help troubleshoot further.

Full transcode logs for MOVIE3 and MOVIE4 are attached.

If there are any additional details I can provide to help with the troubleshooting, please let me know - and thanks in advance for the help!

I wonder if this is another symptom, rather than a different problem, and if it’s also a matter of just having too many tracks in the file.

Drop the file on MKVToolNix.
Uncheck the subtitle and audio track languages you don’t need.
Check the Destination file path.
Hit Start multiplexing

Add new file to Plex, Scan, Analyze, and attempt to Optimize ... it.

Looks like you were spot on, Volts - more details in the other transcoding thread I had opened.
