They appear to have found a fix and have posted about it here: Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error (Memory Allocation failures)
The transcoder memory leak issue for HEVC with TrueHD is expected to be fixed in plex media server release 1.13.7
Thank you very much! I’ll give it a try when I update.
Plex Media Server beta 1.13.7.5369 has just been released. It has the fix for Transcoder memory leak.
See Release Note Plex Media Server
- (Transcoder) The transcoder’s memory consumption increased over time on Android or when decoding certain audio codecs (#8830) (#8814)
[Users with the early development build fix should uninstall that version and replace with the new beta release]
Updated to version 1.13.7.5369 and tried optimizing all my titles with TrueHD. Worked without issue! Thank you very much for the work to diagnose and fix this!
Good work!
how can I update the beta release please ?

I have just upgraded to 1.13.8.5395 and the trued is skipping and causing problems still. :’(
the file I have has DTS 7.1 audio tas well as true hd but even when I select that it skips and stops
Will need to start a new investigation into your problem. You can see from the posts in this thread and the linked two topics the diagnostics that were used to investigate
So need to establish if it is a memory issue or different failure and logs would be a start and then moving into getting a short clip eg 10 or 5 minute clip that brings the problem on
my Yamaha 673 blew up! :(. so I now have a Onkyo 686 and it plays ok now. I wish Plex passed-thru true hd like it does with DTS.
