It is on a list of possible things we are going to do but can’t make promises. As mentioned in one of the other blogs this week we are currently working on credit detection, and when that is done along with some other coming features and fixes we will see where this lands.
If you are looking for a “Yes we are going to definitely do that in the near future” we can’t promise that at this point
Plex is an amazing piece of software. I’ve been using the free version for years and just last week I purchased a Lifetime Plex Pass to support all your hard work. With that said, I was excited to try the Skip Intro feature. It’s great, but it definitely needs an option for Auto-Skip all Intros. I never want intros. It seems like this would be a very easy option to add compared to all the incredible coding you’ve done on Plex so far. I hope you add Auto-Skip Intro soon! It’s very much needed. Also, there should be an option to skip the 15 second countdown between episodes when binging seasons. This also seems like it would be incredibly easy to add. One simple little option to immediately start the next episode. Thank you again for your amazing piece of software!
They’re too busy securing contracts for “free” content and selling your viewing habits to actually implement useful features.
Please add this feature. Intros are awful for falling asleep with the TV on.
Until an official solution comes along, I have created GitHub - mdhiggins/PlexAutoSkip: Automatically skip content in Plex to bridge the gap. Only works for local streams and on players that support “Advertise as Player” but its been working great given these limitations

Is there a general insight on what the team is currently working on? Some kind of roadmap of planned features or the ones currently being worked on?
Not unless there’s an official forum preview. Plex doesn’t usually publicly discuss their roadmap or ETAs for specific features.
That’s honestly a shame. It would be really nice to have at least some sort of transparency.
Also to not have misunderstandings: It’s not about opening it up to discussion, that’s not what I mean. It would just be nice to let us users know what’s currently being working on in terms of suggested functions.
I can only tell you that what that would require is being discussed now that credit detection is out the door. I am still not making any promises
Wouldn’t implement this as described in post #1. Auto-skip on a per-show basis would be ideal.
Seems like it could easily be both. An “always” checkbox next to the skip intro button or on the post viewing screen perhaps.
Otherwise, Plex doesn’t put options on a show’s page, so I would expect this to get buried in the edit dialog for a show which I think defeats the goal it being easy to find and use.
Here we are, 3 years after original request. Who’s prioritizing things at Plex? Credit detection? typically you just hit “stop” and pick another movie. Auto-skipping a show’s 30 second intro on a 100 episode show seems more valuable than skipping the credits at the end of a movie. C’mon Plex, hook us up!
+1 voted. Ive had to install jellyfin in the mean while just to get this feature but need this on plex
Honestly this needs to be added even if its just per show/season. You already have auto play as well as intro and credit detection this shouldn’t be too much work.
Personally I think it should be 3 option toggle similar to others have suggested with options like;
+1, I don’t understand why some very simple functions are delayed to be implemented. It is not difficult to achieve at all.
even if that is too much maybe a setting to skip intro in the options or in the main series view.
This feature is needed. Also the extend to skip credits at the end. Be able to watch each episode like Netflix without intro and credits.
