With this minor change you could control plex playback on say chromecasts through a tablet,phone or pc without said device even being in the same room.
A very simple and easy way to expand plex playback to devices like the chromcasts that don’t natively have plex installed.
Also would be a great way to reuse old phones or tablets to link between plex alexa skill and chromecasts.
Set the player on your old phone to default play on your chromecast and set the alexa skill default playback device to control plex on that phone.
Suddenly you have full voice control of your plex playback to the tv
