Since the loss of Podcasts, could there be an option to create your own live tv channels by linking a URL to a steaming service such as news channels, podcasts, youtube videos etc.? The idea is for me to have saved links that I can open up and then to have an option for controlling the media, such as ‘full screen’. I would like to use podcast sites, ustv247.tv foxnews or cnn news, potentially youtube playlists, and local NVR for networked cameras.
There’s an existing suggestion to add stream URLs via a local file added to a library. The biggest challenge with those will probably be about licensing… those streams might be free to stream for private use, the moment Plex as a company gets involved you might end up on a different page.
