This has been a DVR feature since the late 90s, I don’t understand why we don’t have it on Plex clients yet.
Perhaps whatever under-the-hood changes that are required to add this could also pave the way for a picture-in-picture mode? Play a movie full-screen while the football is playing in a smaller window in one of the corners? [mod-edit: duplicate; see comment below]
[2.] I like to put something on when I go to sleep. Could we get a Plex client software solution to either dim or completely disable the video please? “Sleep time” mode or something?
Please mind the forum guide for feature suggestions and stick to 1 suggestion per thread (also using “feature request” as a thread title will give others a hard time to even find/support what you’re suggesting.
As it goes, there’s already an existing feature suggestion discussing the 1st bullet point of your post. For that scope, please comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes. It appears this is already supported by some clients…
For that reason I’ve updated your post to focus on the 2nd part of your suggestion
I’m asking for a software solution because the dimmest setting on a tv might not be dim enough. Not to mention how deep the setting might be buried.
At its most simple form I would be happy with the ability to set the video track to disabled… and have the client remember that value for the rest of the media streamed during that play session. A brightness slider from 0-1 would be nicer though.
