Option to disable CEC functionality

Plex HTPC Version: 1.70.1
OS: Arch Linux x86_64

I’m trying to prevent Plex from accessing the CEC adapter while still keeping it available for other apps.

One issue is that with the adapter connected, Plex is taking noticeably longer to launch. But more importantly, it seems that when I’m running other applications that use the adapter at the same time, I’m experiencing lag and some missed CEC messages. What I’m trying to achieve is to control other devices from this machine (i.e. AVR) through other means.

Is there any way to disable this or inhibit the access in some hacky way? I’ve already tried using namespaces to hide the device files, but Plex still seems to detect the adapter somehow.
