Does Plex not support opus metadata out of the box (or at all)? Anything opus I throw in my server just comes up as [unknown artist] [unknown album].
This seems baffling considering you apparently transcode to opus, surely you are not throwing metadata away in the transcoding process?
You already support Vorbis comments in ogg files, can you not do the same with opus?
If I’m misinformed, please point me to the right direction, but as it is right now, plex is pretty useless to me without opus metadata.

Unfortunately I’m pretty useless when it comes to coding anything.
Looking at the Plex installed files, there’s already a oggopus.py in the mutagen folder that seems like it should get the metadata out of the files. Maybe it’s bugged?
The fact the file is there doesn’t mean it is actively used, but it sure makes adding the support easier…
Scanners are for adding media to plex, could include short meta: artist, album, title, album_artist, song index, disc
For tv series for example, the scanner give the serie name, year, season, episode and ep title (although default scanner leave it empty) and the agent recover the pictures, fanart, ep summary, serie summary, etc…
