After switching to the new player I instantly noticed upscaled videos weren’t as sharp as they used to be, turned the new player off and everything was fine.
I thought sharpness was supposed to be one of its new features?
I always thought the AppleTV used hardware decoding so maybe the new player can’t access that because of Apples sandboxing?
The only other client I’ve tried with the same quality is my Sony Bravia Android TV with an X1 video processor but it’s an old 2015 model and as with all Android devices time has taken its toll on speed.
The Nvidia Shields upscaling is horrible so maybe that could be worked on at a software level, that to me is the Shields biggest let down!
