OSX: Repeated crashing of Plex Media Server 1.10.0.4561

Well recording was working great as far as the 100% complete error not happening for me anylonger  but now I keep finding Plex just shut itself off. :disappointed: I assume it crashed. Doesn’t seem to matter if it was recording shows or just someone streaming something best I could tell. I was always able to start it right back up each time but without any knowledge of it being down those scheduled recordings were getting missed. So I’m back to 1.6.1 at this point. I would try and stick it out on the latest but I just need software that lets me access my library and something to record shows to watch later. I’m hopeful Plex will be it someday with all the other bells and whistles too but that is not the case on that latest version. If you feel the logs I have saved might be helpful please let me know and I can send them to someone on the Plex team.

Well, I installed 1.10.1.4602 setup a few shows to record this afternoon while at work and when I arrived home just now Plex once again is crashed and no longer appears to be running. And back to 1.6.1. So can I just post the logs? Are they worth while here for anyone with the Plex team? Is there any private information contained within them that should not be sent? I just did the “Download logs” from the Help on my server.

Same issue here. happens every time someone requests media from the AppleTV or Roku.
For example, selecting a TV show will cause PMS to hang for 30-45 seconds while it loads the data. Sometimes it does not unfreeze and the iMac crashes.

Do you actually mean to state your whole system “the iMac” crashes or just implying the Plex app crashes? For myself it has just been the Plex app crashing not the system itself.

And so far since updating to 1.11.0.4633 I have not had that crash issue ::crosses fingers:: and 5 out of 5 recordings have went smooth sailing. Things appear to be looking up. I will be testing a bunch more this week before the shows my family and I record/watch start returning from fall hiatus. Especially now as I have added a second Quatro tuner (couldn’t pass up that $99 sale at BB recently) to my current Quatro and Prime in the DVR.

I believe i’m having similar issues with the PMS on Netgear ReadyNAS. Every few days the PMS is crashed, but it seems to kill the whole NAS box and a hard reset is required.

I’m seeing the same thing on .4666 - the server crashes every 10-30 mins if DVR is on (HD Homerun Connect Duo). Has anyone found a solution?

Do these logs contain any personal identifiable information about myself, systems, or even something with my Plex membership (login details or tokens and what not)? Hate to accidentally post something that contains anything like that in an open forum?

tokens would not be logged by default - make sure you have not enabled logging of tokens (settings / server / general - show advanced)

passwords are not logged

your email address that is associated with the plex.tv account may appear in the logs. If you wish you can search for it in the files and edit the individual files and re-zip
