OTA / Live TV - Buffering Occurs Every Few Seconds

Viewing a live TV channel results in buffering that occurs every few seconds. This seems to occur more frequently with HD channels. Default settings with the FTV and Plex app.

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Reduced the Plex app streaming quality to 3Mbps which seemed to help, but caused the stream to be transcoded and reduced quality from 1080 to 720p.
  2. Used the FTV Ethernet adapter instead of WiFi, same issue.
  3. Tried the HDHomeRun FTV app on the same FTV device. All channels streamed as expected, no buffering with any channels.
  4. Tried the latest Plex app on a Roku device, connected to the same network subnet and Plex server. All channels streamed as expected, no buffering with any channels.
