Server Version#: 1.23.4
It seems like the current version of Plex Media Server that is available from the QNAP app store is 1.23.4, but the current version available for download is now 1.28. Why is the version on the app store so out-of-date, and anyone know when it will be updated? QNAP has advised this is done by Plex and not them. Thanks!
HAHA… It’s updated by QNAP. 
We submit to them. They test then they release.

I also currently have my Plex server installed from the QNAP app store.
If i were to download the latest package directly from the Plex website and install it on my NAS, would it be handled as an update?
I just want to be sure, that it doesn’t install as a separate instance, or that i lose all my settings and metadata.
