Override Subtitle Language

How do I force to use “EXTERNAL” subtitles rather than the one built in?
Both built in and .srt are english, reason why I ask it’s because I customise the subtitles to my own colour/size (converted into .ssa) but the one built in are not my style (white and fixed size).

If both the file has an internal subtitle and you have also an external subtitle in the same language, then the external sub is automatically preferred.

This only works if:

  1. the subtitle selector dropdown of this media item was not ‘touched’ by the user before
  2. both the internal and the external subs are properly tagged with a ‘language’ tag
  3. the user has selected his preferred audio and subtitle languages here and the checkbox to automatically select is ticked

So I should’ve rename all of my .ssa to eng.ssa then?
I’ve just tried it, seems it did the job. Now I need to find an utility to rename all .ssa to eng.ssa.
