Hello - I’m running a Plex server in a ProxMox VM (Ubuntu 20.04 server).
Specs
i7-4770 - 8vCPUs in VM
10GB ram in VM
P400 PCIe passthrough working with limit remover patch
Video files stored on NAS accessed via NFS
I am able to transcode 7 1080p streams using the P400 GPU before hitting GPU ram limits.
My question is…the transcoding takes 10-15 seconds to start with hardware transcoding (decode/encode) enabled. If I disable hardware transcoding, it starts almost instantly but my CPU is older and it hovers 60% simply on one transcode. I’d like to put the P400 to work, but I can’t figure out why there is such a delay in streaming with it enabled.
Any thoughts or tips I should try?
