Server Version#: 1.21.3608-f7262c352 (Plex Pass on Windows 10)
Player Version#: on an Android TV box
None of the episodes of a series I’ve been following play this weekend where those were no problem in the past.
When I start the video in direct play it starts immediately.
Last week I had no trouble playing these files in the normal way. It must have been the update of the Plex Pass Media Server. Hopefully it can get resolved.
BTW not all the media stopped playing
This does the log say:

Thanks for your reply, but I’m running the latest beta (at least that’s what I always presumed a Plex Pass download was). I can not see a download of what they call beta.
This is what I can download and it’s exactly the same as what I have, 1.21.0.3608-f7262c352
November 17, 2020:
If there is some kind of even newer beta-version of Plex, please provide me a URL of it.
I have also tried to download a regular Plex server download, but it refuses to install as it does not want to overwrite a newer version of Plex. I do not dare to uninstall my current Plex server as I’m afraid of ruining my library.
I have also turned off hardware accelleration for transcoding. It doesn’t make a difference. I am running latest Intel Drivers
When I googled on Plex with the keywords “plex Cannot load nvcuda.dll” and filtered on “Last week only” I found this forum entry. I should add that my server does not crash and it played this same content fine a week ago.
@OttoKerner
You quickly replied on my first post in this thread.
You confused me with your advice to download the latest beta-version. I think I’m already running that.
Can you please clear this up?
I do not know if it has any bearing on this issue, but I would like to mention this anyway.
I upgrade my MS-Windows 10 last week to the latest October version 20H2.
Too bad I did this on 2 of the servers I have available, so I can’t compare them. Both servers act the same.

look like the hardware transcoding is failing because of a bug which was supposed to be fixed in the latest server version.
But you appear to be running this version already.
Which graphics adapter is in your server?
Which CPU model?
If it is a nVidia GPU, did you install the latest driver from the nVidia website? After a major Windows update, the driver is usually reverted to the one which is automatically installed by Microsoft Update.
No I have no nVidia graphics card. I have an Intel CPU with onboard Intel UHD Graphics 630 with recent 28-10-2020 drivers.
It does exactly the same on another server I have at my disposal.
I tested to see if it was the hardware accelleration by turning that off on the server.
It made no difference.
I’m running Plex for about 8 years.
1 week ago these same files gave me no problem.
Each time I now start a video I have to go to Playback settings and choose for Direct Play. Normally they would need to be transcoded.
I am away from the Android player that was unable to play part of my content. Yesterday a new Plex Pass version was released and it mentioned some transcoder fix.
It was nVidia related. I have an Intel processor with Intel Graphics for my server, so that would indicate it has no bearing.
On the other hand, the log showed it was unable to to load nvcuda.dll. That’s already a bit fishy as I do not have nVidia hardware at all.
I have given you my log, I update my server last Monday, but my Android player still can’t play those flicks by default.
If I go to player settings and select “direct play” it plays direct…
