if the plugin wont load at all, its usually because of a syntax error in the python code somewhere. if the log doesnt give you a traceback and you cant find it, run the python syntax checker in your editor or ide, or pychecker or something else from the terminal. i use textmate as my editor (which everyone should) and its python bundle’s validate syntax is really good, i have it using py-checker installed from ports, though be aware that pychecker will always say ImportError: No module named PMS, you can ignore that, if it finds other errors, it will at the very least point you to the exact line. a very common problem that causes theses sorts of errors that is very hard to find is in your indentation, you CAN NOT mix tabs and spaces, you need to pick one and stick with it, i like tabs, but if i accidently indented one line with spaces in a block that otherwise had tabs (or vise versa)or paste in a line, not realizing it had spaces, it kills the entire plugin, and is really hard to find because its invisible, again pychecker (through textmate’s pycheckmate) will narrow it down for you.
