pCloud storage for my movies

Hi,

Is there any solution to plug pCloud to Plex ? (in order to read movies from pCloud without having to store them locally ?

I found old posts like this one :

Thanks.

Plex does not support storing media on pCloud, Google Drive, etc. That capability was discontinues several years ago.

Some people use rclone or similar software to make cloud storage appear as local storage and accessible by Plex.

Search the forum for “rclone” and you’ll find several documents that can hopefully assist.

Before going deeper in the subject, can you let me know if it means that I need to keep computer turned on ? (as I have a NAS, will also look if “rclone” can be used)

Thanks FordGuy61

Short Answer: Yes.

To stream your media using a Plex client - web, mobile, Smart TV, etc - a Plex Media server must be installed and running. A Plex client cannot stream directly from a cloud provider, a network file system (NFS, SMB, etc.), etc.

If you are running Plex Media Server on your NAS, it might be possible to run rclone on the NAS as well.

You’ll probably have better luck in the rclone forum for such options.

Example: I googled “mount rclone on synology.” The top hits were all from the rclone fourms. There were also some youtube videos and a couple of links to the synology forum.

The info isn’t taboo on the Plex forum. Just that there are better sources.

FYI: Separate from rclone, it is just a good idea to leave your Plex Media Server running 7x24 if possible. PMS runs several tasks during its maintenance window, which can be scheduled, but is typically in the wee hours of the morning. The maintenance tasks need to run at least occasionally. If they don’t, then, over time, it can lead to Plex server instability.

Will search deeper in this direction.
Thanks for you detailed answer.

Yes my NAS is always UP with PMS.
