Has anyone used pCloud to store media?

Hey guys,

Just ran across a somewhat ‘different’ cloud storage provider: pCloud.

It mounts a virtual drive on your machine, where you can access, open, modify, save and use your files without them taking any storage space on your local drive. It works quite well. I have videos on there, and the play fine in VLC.

I’m wondering if anyone has used this for Plex? Their plan is less expensive than Amazon Cloud (sine they changed their prices). Would it work to store all your plex media on a virtual mounted drive? I would no longer need an HDD!

Any thoughts?

Here are a few threads regarding pCloud.

All these prior posts are about using pCloud with Plex Cloud.

I’m not interested in that.

I’m just wondering about my local Plex server using pCloud as the primary media location for my libraries.

If the network location shows up as a local drive, Plex won’t care or know it’s a network location. Just don’t put the database up there, and I wouldn’t use it for a transcoding location either. Try it, load a few movies/music files/pictures/etc, then create a new library and add those locations. See how it performs.
