Per Library Scan Settings Option

Hey Guys -

I’m a long time Plex user and Plex Pass member. I just wanted to post a suggestion which would make a world of difference for my setup and any others with large libraries.

Currently, you may configure library scanning options globally. I’d like to be able to at least have the option to be able to configure these settings per library. Having a large library, this would make a dramatic difference in system resource usage. I do have the option to run a partial scan selected, but when testing adding / changing something in a small library vs large one, there’s a huge difference in time taken & resource usage for some reason.

Thank You!

So which option do you want to set per-library?

Not sure if this is exactly what you’re asking about, but it seems related at least.

I reported what I thought was a bug where changing agent settings in a library affected other libraries. Rather than fix the problem, Plex instead added explanatory text and treated it as a feature. So I made a feature request to change it.

Would be awesome to have the ability to choose which libraries scan automatically.

I have a music library that I also use with rekordbox so has plenty of files with odd albums/metadata/isn’t on metadata dbs and it seems to be scanning that library all the time which I believe is due to metadata/matches.

Basically I want my other libraries to auto scan still but have this library only scan manually.
