Just a few words on my first impressions with Rasplex.
I am a frequent Plex user on Roku, iOS, Plexbmc on Linux, and Android.
I know it is a beta release and I've to say you guys have done a great work so far.
I am sure there's a huge list on planned improvements and bug fixing on the product roadmap. However, I wanted to share my impressions just in case it may help to anyone either at the development or user side.
After a few days improving performance through caching metadata, system is not as responsive as in other platforms.
However, main issues appear when trying to resume a video and the usage of subtitles. Resuming does not seem to work at all. It does work from a simple Pause but it does not work for me in the rest of the cases. Sometimes I get a blank screen while others starts from the beginig. This is not a huge inconvinient but problem comes when one uses subtitles. Subtitles tend to loose sync quite easy and specially if you don't start the moving from the very begining.
It may be my fault but I can't choose the language of the subtitles. In other platforms I may choose what subtitle do I want and I may even change it during the video.
Performance is an issue that has been discussed a lot so no need for more comments on this.
Summary: I am enjoying a lot playing with this great peace of SW and waiting for improvements that makes it more usable for a daily usage. Subtitles are important to me and I need that to be fixed before it gets a platform of choice.
