Hi,
I have like 1000 personal video from the last 15 years (family video, gathering, events, others). Every month I keep adding videos.
They all have a file creation date and a file modification date of the day it was shoot.
I wrote a new Agent that read the file date of the video and put it in the “Release date” metadata. I know the Agent works (you’ll see later why).
But when I add a video to the directory scanned by Plex, it’s added to Plex but the release date is the I add it in the directory. So, my Halloween video has a November 3rd, 2018 release date instead of October 31th, 2018. The file creation and modification date of the video is 2018-10-31.
To get the right release date, I have to manually “Refresh all metadata”. Then, my customized Agent pick the file date and put it in the Release date metadata. I can see my Agent working because during the refresh, my video “flip” and the release date change (November 3rd become October 31th). And then everything is all right.
Why Plex can’t pick the right date right when it scan to see if there’s new files?
My library use “Plex Video Files Scanner” and the agent " Personal Media". At the Agents parameter, my customized Agent is on the top.
