Photo album duplication (Unsure if intended behavior or bug)

Steps to produce the issue/behavior

  1. on the server file system, create a new directory within a dir holding a photo library.
  2. add photos to the newly created directory
  3. scan the library to pick up the new photos in Plex
  4. In the Plex UI, edit the name of the newly added photo album (default named as the dir name)
  5. Add more photos to the created directory
  6. Scan for new photos again
  7. Inspect the photo library.

The library will have a newly created album that is named for the file system directory. The newly added images in step 5 will be present but the photos in the renamed album exist separately in the first instance. The result is the file system is setup to treat all photos as part of the same album but the Plex system is creating a new album. Once this behavior occurs, I have not found any function that would allow for the merger of the multiple photo albums.

Is this a bug or is this intended behavior?
